Popular in many Asian countries, Propolis is starting to gain more media coverage in the UK. An article today in The Scotsman highlights some of its benefits, and says it is starting to gain some favour with doctors.
It should be remebered that Propolis will not be suitable for everyone, as people with bee allergies need to exercise caution against an allergic reaction.
However there are now a growing range of propolis products available, from mixtures combined with manuka honey aimed specifically at colds and winter wellness, to sore throats (propolis lozenges work a treat), tinctures and tablets.
The natural taste of propolis can turn many people off. But with the options of it mixed with honey (which also has its own health benefits), and tablets which can be swallowed, you can worry less about the taste, and make use of its immune boosting properties. After all, it is what the bees use to protect their hive.

First post: The New Zealand Honey Shop is on its way.
We are happy to announce that The New Zealand Honey Shop is on its way! Our domain is registered and an initial one page website put up. That will get expanded to provide a lot more information as we progress. This is the related step of setting up our blog, so we can keep you updated in future.
Now we just need to narrow down which part of London will be best for us to secure a shop to provide Londoners access to quality honeys from New Zealand.
As we get closer to proper launch, we'll be posting updates on here, and in future will also post any latest news and items of interest.
